Storms in the Willamette Valley

8/3/2020 (Permalink)

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we get rain more than anything else when it comes to storms. Rain, given enough of it, can cause major damages. When inches of rain fall within a short amount of time, even the storm drains in cities can’t keep up. Also, in residential areas, rain can backup along the side of houses and businesses. Rain coupled with heavy wind is detrimental to older roofs as well.

Water penetration into basements, lower floors of homes, attics, and through roof leaks can cause damages that are costly to repair. Storm water is also considered contaminated water, so it isn’t advisable to try and clean up water that has made its way into your basement (without the correct precautions).

Residents in Oregon talk about how the state wouldn’t be so beautiful if the rains didn’t come like they do. And they are right, the rain here in Oregon can be tedious, especially in the colder months, but it does keep our beautiful Oregon home green, lush, and beautiful.
