September Storm - 6" in 4 Hours

Typically, the average rainfall that the Salem/Keizer area receives is between 1” – 2” in the month of September. Residents here are not accustomed to a significant amount of rainfall, but on September 10, 2019 a total of 6” of rain fell from the sky. The storm surged through both towns causing minor and major flooding.
